IVA- Completed
Options
Hi people
IVA completed (smiley face)
But after 5 Years and after repaying 100% of the monies owed!
And having a completion certificate stating that no Interest is owed.
I've had a letter from Welcome finance demanding I now pay them the remaining £1500 I owe them?
After a quick look into things I see on my credit file that they have reported me as in arrears every month for the last 5 Years and including this month even though my IVA completion date is May,
A call to simple debt solutions and I was told I don't owe them anything and I have no legal obligation to pay them now as they have a copy of the completed IVA report, The lady on the phone suggested that I call them and tell them so!
My problem is giving Welcome a number to call usually means pestering calls demanding money and extra charges every time they do so.
My other concern is my IVE report shows what I owed welcome as 4k and the Equifax report showed it as 5k. However I do believe it was up to welcome at the time to ensure they had the correct amount of money to go into the IVA.
Thanks in advance for any advice!

I wouldnt call them, I would send a copy of your completion certificate to them (the address should be on your credit report) and giving them 14 days to amend your credit report or you will take the matter further (inform the ICO)
good luck for your future!Aug GC £63.23/£200, Total Savings £00 -

Well done, Bliss, you must be ecstatic to have reached the end of the tunnel!
Just for clarification, do you mean you made every payment expected of you rather than repaid 100% of the monies owed?
Here's to the future.0 -
WELL DONE BLISS! Fantastic stuff.
I've got a few months left to go on mine as well and counting down almost every day!
I'd be inclined to do what Milliemonster suggests. As long as you included the Welcome debt in your IVA then they ought to have spoken up at the time of the creditors' meetings/opportunities to vote set up by your IVA provider.
If in doubt, I'd be more inclined to contact your IVA Provider. They might be able to supply you with a letter of confirmation to send to Welcome along with a copy of your certificate - or maybe even contact Welcome on your behalf...
Very best wishes for the future! xx0 -
Hi thanks for the comments, It is very nice to be at the end of the road indeed.
I am just ironing out the last few niggles before I start on the road to repair my credit file so that I may obtain a mortgage in the future.
I think I will go with Milliemonsters suggestion and write to them instead of calling them.
And to clarify Max I made all my payments and paid a extra £1000 on top in overtime and bonuses which meant the total paid into the IVA was 100p in every £ of the monies owed at the start.
Best wishes to you all.0 -
well done Bliss :beer:Roll on DFD, final payment 1st October 2017 :beer:0

Congratulations Bliss,
I believe it is illegal for your creditors to chase you for a debt that has been included in the IVA.
Might be worth a quick chat with your IP as well, prior to contacting this creditor.

Just to let everyone know I wrote to the company's that were affecting my credit file with out of date reports and they agreed that they were in error and have since removed anything that should not have been there! That plus some wise spending and paying bills on time and my credit score is a whopping 960 with Experian!
feeling good!
If your on the IVA road I know its a long and tough one at times but please stick with it and stay on track!0
