Lovefilm taken money and changed my billing dates around!

Options
Very annoyed by this- my next payment date was 26th June which I planned to cancel, I checked my bank today and saw that lovefilm have taken money for another month!!, i logged into lovefilm and now it says 12th july is my next billing date... it clearly said 26th june the last time and I even wrote it down and kept checking it throughout the month...

I rung lovefilm customer service and he basically made out that I was seeing things and it has always said 12 of the month during my 3 month subscription (not true, it said different dates each month for some reason)

He has now put my lovefilm account onto pending cancellation (once the films which are being sent are returned they will cancel my account)
he says he has put in the notes that I am to be refunded as 'a goodwill gesture' (refused to believe I could possibly be correct) so I need to ring them again once my account is cancelled (bit worried because they kind of don't need to refund me, he may not have even wrote it?)
Also something which is strange is that the new message that has been added to my account 'cancellation pending' which was added today says 'please return discs by 12/05/2013.......

I am wondering if they HAVE to give me a refund if the man today said they have to? sorry if this is in the wrong place, I'm new and also a bit annoyed by all this as I usually prefer to try and get things like this sorted straight away but have to wait for the films to be delivered and for them to be sent back before anything and I cant afford to be having money taken from my bank account at all

I only got lovefilm on a deal (3 months for £7) I planned to cancel it and as I cant afford to be paying the normal rate every month I was careful to make absolute sure I had the right date... :(
