Can my employer extend my exit date after formal notice of redundancy

If formal redundancy notice has been served and an employer wants to extend it is there a maximum length it can be extended for ?

There is an example somewhere on here or the redundancy forum on how to deal with this, search for threads that sarel contributed to that deal with exit dates.0
