Hi, i am interested in buying solid/engineered oak flooring to fit in my kitchen and have come across frenchforestfloors.com. Has anyone has bought flooring from them?
If so,
how was the experience?
quality of flooring?
solid or engineered?
any other retailer recommendations that sell in 2-3m lengths?
I have 4 young children so need a hardwearing floor! What is best solid or engineered? The flooring will also be laid onto concrete.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated:D

Hi
I have never heard of them but the products look OK. Just make sure you don't buy cheap stuff from a mass market Floors r gone or similar place as it does not last at all.
I would tend to avoid Walnut as it is a very soft wood (easy to dent) and personally I do not like ash. I would tend to go with Oak and get good length boards.
My opinion is that although Oil finishes are easy to maintain, they take a lot more maintenance. I have Hard wax oil in the kitchen and dining room and I have to re-oil it every 2 years. The lacquer in the living room, hall and bedrooms is now 9 years old and still looks like the day I put it down.
Solid wood will need to be stuck down, engineered can be stuck (less noise) or floated on insulation (more flexible and slightly warmer in the winter)
Cheers
