Who to go with??
We are just about to move house, the vendor says they pay £150 with npower per month for gas and electric. I think that is a little high.
What makes it difficult is we have no idea what energy we will use, i currently live in a 1 bedroom house and my partner and i are moving in together and it is a 4 bedroom house.
Any suggestions on which supplier seems to be the best on price. Do any offer forces discount?
Thanks for any suggestions

You'll need to fist set up accounts with the existing supplier on the day you move in.
Once done, you will be able to choose another supplier if you prefer.

Comparison sites only offer generally available tariffs.
Any discount you may be entitled to by way of your employment will surely be informed to you by your employer (or employer's association, club, etc)0 -
As posted by Wywth you must register your occupancy and the meter readings with n'power as soon as you move in - Also inform the supplier to your existing house of the meter readings & date you moved out
As a 'new' customer n'power will automatically put you on their 'Standard' most expensive tariff, but fortunately you seem to have a good relationship with the previous owners - Ask them what their Annual Kwh consumption figures were and as soon as n'power have sent you their Welcome Pack, use these figures on the Switch sites to find a better deal
DO NOT assume that when you live in the house the Utility bills will be cheaper - Your bills will be different because you are different people living a different life style, but if takes xxx Kwh of gas to heat this house, that will remain broadly the same no matter who is living in it0
