really?? is this fact, so soon people with black box's will just be reported for going 40 in a 30 at 2am in the morning?

It would ge a good idea if they were, but I doubt it will happen.

Buy a luxobarge (Rover 75/Volvo) and put a parent on as a named driver, statistically new drivers crash more Corsas/Fiestas than old saloons.

If you don't do many miles then tell the insurance, as it will cost more to be insured for 15k when you only do 5k a year.

Play with the voluntary excess when getting quotes, having a big excess on a fully comp policy usually works out cheaper than TPFT.

If you have a birthday soon try and wait until then to start your insurance. Every year for a while will be slightly less because of this.
  • Thanks for the replies everyone!, it looks like my only choice is to start saving!

I remember recently there was a young lad in the news, he couldn't get car insurance so he bought a tractor and insured it for £50 a year :p

I admit I didn't expect that reply haha

Equally though quotes are higher at 5k than at 10k, seems around 10-12k would appear to be the sweet spot in that case

    It should be...and registration too
    why should it ?
cyclists dont cause anywhere near the amount of damage that cars do, thats why insurance for cyclists is given away free most of the time

Registration doesnt work. The only thing itll do is reduce the number of cyclists on the road
