Is it just me that finds it surprising that this thread is still here? After all, it has little direct relevance to Marriage, Relationships & Families, unlike the "Do men get a bad rap?" thread that was inexplicably moved to the Arms.0

I am from the West Midlands and have always called my mother Mom, think we all did in the area I grew up in. I also dislike Americanisms, skedule instead of schedule drives me potty, I tend to correct friends and relatives where I can.:)0
