Hi guys
After some advice please. Myself and my OH booked a holiday a few weeks ago to go to the Canaries. Unfortunately we are now having some relationship problems and currently I'm unsure if he will be going.
I'd still like to go on the holiday as its all been paid for etc, however he is the lead name, does this make a difference?
What happens if I turn up at the accommodation and its just me, and he isn't with me? I've paid for two people, so even though its just me they shouldn't want to charge me any more?
Its an AI holiday the flights, accommodation etc are all booked separately.
I'd be grateful for any advice because I'd really like to go, even if he doesn't come!
Thanks

Have you asked the travel agent?
Some holidays charge a supplement for a single traveller, we can all give our answers on what we think should happen but you need to read T&C's and then contact the people you have booked through for a definitive answer!Everything has its beauty but not everyone sees it.0

I booked the accommodation through lowcostholidays. I've read the T&C's and there is no mention of anything relevant to my question. Like I said I've PAID for two people, realistically will they be able to do anything if just one person turns up at the accomodation?0

They should not charge extra as you are one person but paid for two, your main issue is that you are not the lead traveller, so contact either Lowcost or the individual airline/hotel.Everything has its beauty but not everyone sees it.0

Oh I see, sorry I misunderstood you.
The flights are with Ryanair which will probably be a pain, although as its online check in, I'll hopefully get away with it. I'll establish what OH (or ex-OH) wants to do and then contact lowcost to see. Stupid really, should have put it in my name as lead as I organised the whole shebang! Oh well, you live and learn.
Thanks for your help.0

Probably not0

LOL Bob, they've got my money for only flying 50% of us potentially so in theory they should be ok!!0

If only one person turns up on the day I really can't see what they can do. However, if you contact them and make changes you will be charged.
Lead passengers don't come into it if it's a Ryanair, you each have your won individual tickest and are treated as individual passengers, not a group.
I would just go, if they ask where he is when you check in, which they probably won't if it's Ryanair just say he's making his own way to the airport. I doubt they'll say anything at the hotel either, I've checked in by myself for our whole family plenty of times without them doing a head countAccept your past without regret, handle your present with confidence and face your future without fear0

In terms of the flight, you both check in individually so if only one turns up this will not be an issue.
In regards to your hotel, does your name appear at all on the accommodation voucher that you have been sent or is it just in his name?
Although you say you have booked with LowCostHols who is the accommodation booked through? They generally use a 3rd party supplier and this will be or should be stated on your hotel voucher.
If your name is on the voucher then it shouldn't really be a problem. If your name isn't on the voucher, again it shouldn't be a problem and you should just be able to change the lead name. Although there maybe an admin fee to do this.
If you want to send me a PM with your hotel details I can get you an email address for the reservations department and you can drop them an email to explain. But most importantly don't panic as you are not the first person to have done this and won't be the last and you will most definitely still be able to go on and enjoy your much needed holiday!I am a Travel Agent

One possible concern: perhaps the lead passenger is allowed to change the names of other passengers; perhaps make other alterations. So ex-OH needs to agree not to do any of these things or you might get to the airport and be unable to travel (or even worse: get to the hotel and find that you no longer have a room there).0

            You will be fine.
Last year I booked accommodation for 3 of us for 2 weeks in turkey, but I was actually only going for 9 days, when my friend arrived at the accommodation, they just handed in the voucher and said I would be following on in a few days, it wasnt' a problem.
As for flights i'm sure your partner would just be classed as a no show, so no problem there.0
