How far in advance to arrange viewings (for renting)?

I have zero experience with this, so I don't know what's the normal 'etiquette'.

Do agencies require bookings 1 week in advance? Can it be less? Can I call on the monday and say I'd like to arrange a few viewings for friday and saturday?

Depends on how quickly the diaries fill up. Sometimes we have to cancel viewings (when a property is taken) so space becomes free, we'll take a booking weeks in advance or the same day if we can get space in the diary. By Monday of any week, Saturday viewings will probably be full, but later in the week there might be a couple of cancellations.

If the property you want to view is tenanted and the outgoing tenant is doing the viewings, the agent will have to arrange this with them so the timescale might be different (and more likely to be evening/weekend rather than office hours).

I was going to take your advice into consideration, but then things got out of control and I ended up making all the calls yesterday (on the monday). I got everything I wanted for this friday, and a couple on saturday :)

I guess "oop north" things are calmer, hehehe
