I'm leaving O2 and will be joining TalkTalk soon, do I need to supply a MAC code to keep my existing number? I applied for talk talk online and there was an option to supply the mac code but when I rang O2 up they said I don't.

a MAC is to enable to change broadband providers and has nothing to do with the phone number.
Normally you do need a MAC for to change the broadband over well depending on area. http://www.maccode.org.uk/0
