Providing a character reference
Comments
-
When I was writing reports on people for the Magistrates I used to take little notice of any character references (rightly or wrongly), mainly for the reason mentioned in the first post - the OP admits he knows nothing of the facts of the case but yet is prepared to write a reference to try and get the defendant a lighter sentence. OP would it have made a difference to you if you had been in court and knew exactly what the defendant had been convicted of (despite his denial)?
Stuart Hall had many character references at his Court appearance yesterday. Maybe that's why he got such a derisory sentence for all those counts of indecent assault.
JxAnd it looks like we made it once again
Yes it looks like we made it to the end0 -
Can you ask his solicitor for some guidance as to the type of thing they would expect to be included?0
