is there a problem with lloyds tsb today?

went to pay a credit card online with my lloyds tsb bank account debit card, and it told me to refer to my bank???? so I double checked my balance online, no problems,
I asked hubby to check his balance at the cashpoint on the way home, and it just kept spitting his card out????
So was just wondering if there was a problem in general, I am a bit miffed as I needed to pay my CC today, otherwise I will get charged for a non-payment

Perhaps check the chip on his card doesn't need a wipe/cleaning?0
