EGG Card PPI claim

Hi All,
I was wondering if anyone with a similar experience may be able to help?
I sent the FOS PPI consumer questionnaire to Canada Square to see if i had PPI on a credit card i had with EGG from 2002 to 2010.
I have received a reply in the post to say they have received my complaint and it has been passed to an advisor for investigation.
Does this mean they do actually have something to investigate, i.e they can see a record of PPI, or is this just a standard response as most other lenders i have contacted have said straight away if there was any insurance on the accounts to complain about.
Anyway, i just thought id ask as it sounds to me like they do have something to investigate.
Cheers

I wouldn't read anything into it at all. If you don't have PPI then the response will come after someone has checked for you.or is this just a standard response
You do realise that it's generally a simple matter of ringing them up to ascertain whether you have actually had PPI? It normally takes minutes rather than weeks.
Have you really sent "complaints" to your other lenders despite not ever having any PPI?0 -
I would have called Canada Square if I'd found a contact number.
Their website advises completing the questionnaire, hence doing it this way.
I have manged to contact most of the other lenders by phone to be told "No PPI" therefore no complaints were sent.
I do remember having PPI on an account years ago and this is a process of elimination to find out which one it was. The EGG response is the most positive one so far0 -
You sent a complaint, so they're investigating. It doesn't mean you did or you didn't have PPI.
If you bought it online, the chances are you did have it though....Non me fac calcitrare tuum culi0
