Ending Ebay Auction Early - Please help quick!

Hi... I'm selling a dress on Ebay and have been asked to add a buy it now price so that somebody can have it in time for a wedding on Saturday.

The price we have agreed is good... I think I'll be lucky to get that in an auction and I totally understand the wedding on saturday predicament. However, I can't add a buy it now price after bids have been made.

How can I end the auction? I'm not trying to avoid fees & I don't want to settle it outside of Ebay.

Thanks Moneysavers.

    Thanks Jake.

How do I arrange for the buyer to pay the agreed price?

There is an option to end item and sell to highest bidder, or add a BIN - costs about 5p, but just revise the item and edit postage and payemnt section.

Tell them to bid so they are the highest bidder, end the item early using the sell to the highest bidder option. Then send them an invoice adding the extra into the p&p costs.

    Thanks Flo.

I've tried to amend the item and add a buy it now but Ebay won't let me.

I think I'll tell her to make her highest bid at the amount we've agreed and I'll end the auction.

I feel bad for the other bidders but I understand about the wedding too!

Unfortunately there are bids on it so the terms can't be changed nor BIN added.

When I've had such situations I've either a) canceled the auction's bids and sold privately (to be a real moneysaver), or b) come to an agreement with the buyer about the price to be paid and closed the auction with them as winning bidder. They can enter the agree price as their bid, but in the absence of counterbids it won't rise to the maximum (i.e. agreed price) under the proxy system. However a private agreement overrides the eBay price and terms.

    Hope this helps! :-)

    Hi, thanks for your help.

I ended the auction, got my reserve price & added the extra £10 to make up the price.
