I purchased an 'overlap' 6' x 4' shed from Buy Sheds Direct with a wooden base kit costing just over £204 inc delivery.

No problem with the ordering, service, delivery and (additional cost) paid for construction (extra)...however....the quality is terrible!

It is made of ultra thin match board panels which do not overlap...they are so bent that they have huge gaps showing down each panel. The door is so warped that it has a 2" gap at the top when latched in the middle and one of the uprights is broken right through at a knot hole.

I wasn't expecting anything special, but the quality is so bad that it is almost humorous.

I am waiting for after sales to get back to me, but as it is now put up, have asked for some refund so that I can put some of the faults right.

Just warning MSE folks in advance!

BuyShedsDirect put me on to the manufacturer who was happy to offer to send a new door and sides but we would have to get these fitted. (I am disabled so had already paid BSD's contractors to erect the base and shed).

In the end I settled for a £35 refund from the retailer (I asked £50, they originally offered £25).

Can't complain at the customer service, but on the cheaper 'overlap' product the match board is as thin as orange box, and in our case, very warped.

I would still expect more for a cost of £179 (without the base kit) for a 6'x4' windowless shed...and especially for the "overlap" to do just that rather than gape 1" apart at each sheet of wood!!
