Hi i am new here and could do with some help?
I had my car finance through a company called Brooklyn Motors but they no longer trade anymore.
About a year ago i sent British Credit trust (Lender) a letter about ppi that had been mis-sold to me.
They replied saying they didnt sell the ppi and gave me information to get in contact with i think the fsa..cant really remember. So i did.
They sent me out a form and i filled in all the details. Fine. Sent it will all the stuff i had....But i needed more. and the paper work i need would have been from Brooklyn motors sooo i just gave up.
Is there away i can get the paper work..or am i being silly and doing it wrong.
I only thought to start looking at it again as my mrs got her's through with success and told me to get back on it.
I know i was sold ppi because the woman said to me that i wouldn't get accepted for the finance without it.
Hope someone can help.
Thanks

If it was sold prior to January 2005 your complaint is over. If it was sold after that, you complain to the FSCS but if you already have and they asked for paperwork and you don't have it, your complaint is over.Non me fac calcitrare tuum culi0

Yeah was after 2005. Couldn't i just redo the complaint if i got hold of the paper work?0

Yes, but you can't get hold of the paperwork from the firm if the firm has gone bustNon me fac calcitrare tuum culi0

It isnt over. You dont need paperwork to put your complaint to the FSCS. The FSCS will investigate based on what you have and what they are able to obtain.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only. They are not financial advice and you should not treat them as such. If you feel an area discussed may be relevant to you, then please seek advice from an Independent Financial Adviser local to you.0

I read his original post as he's already done that and been rejected due to lack of paperwork. Could be wrong though.....Non me fac calcitrare tuum culi0

Yeh they needed more information...i gave them everything from British Credit Trust because i just rang them and asked for a copy. But still needed more. Thatss why i gave up.0

Are you saying that the FSCS are saying they needed more information?
