Tesco Direct - VAT Invoice Request

Advice please? 6 weeks ago, we purchased a Samsung Tab 2 10" from Tesco Direct and after paying for it, requested a VAT invoice. The Tablet arrived a couple of days later with just a delivery note in the box. we have made numerous attempts contacting Tesco - email and phone, chasing them up and we get all sorts of different excuses, the latest was a call received on Friday 14th June following an email I sent to them the day before saying if they didn't reply by close of play by Friday 14th June I would be making a formal complaint and reflecting this in the product Review that Tesco keep emailing me to complete. The caller apologised for our 6 week wait for an invoice and he has passed this on as a matter of urgency to be sent to us either that day or by the latest Saturday 15th June. Guess what ..... nothing. We are livid and wished we never bought the tablet from Tesco Direct. What can I do next which may get them to pull their finger out? HMRC? Thank you. LISA

Well did they say what their method of sending out to you was? by post or email? If post then I suggest you wait.
Secondly, the review of the product is nothing to do with your VAT invoice, it is to review the product0 -
As a VAT-registered supplier, you may be liable to a fine if you do not issue a VAT invoice for a supply you have made when asked to do so by a VAT-registered customer. There is a strict time limit on issuing VAT invoices. You must normally issue a VAT invoice (to a VAT-registered customer) within 30 days of the date you supply the goods or services - or if you were paid in advance, the date you received payment. This is so your customer can claim back the VAT on the supply, if they're entitled to. You can't issue invoices any later without permission from HMRC except in a few limited circumstances.
For goods, the time when the goods are considered to be supplied is the date when one of these happens:
you send the goods to the customer
the customer collects the goods from you
the goods (which are not either sent or collected) are made available for the customer to use - for example, if you are assembling something on the customer's premises

Remind them that HMRC are very clear about this as above, and if they fail to email you a valid VAT invoice by the end of the day, you'll take it up with HMRC (which will be a massive pain in the BTM for them if HMRC start niggling) - see if that solves things. It's not difficult to issue a VAT invoice and you have a right to one, so what's their problem?!0 -
Secondly, the review of the product is nothing to do with your VAT invoice, it is to review the product
I disagree, whilst the primary function is to review the product I'd consider it acceptable to highlight problems with the entire purchase and delivery process whilst not criticising the product itself0 -
I'm waiting for two VAT receipts from Tesco, one since the beginning of February and the other since mid-April.
I've had various excuses, all variations on 'computer problems'.

They outsourced the Tesco Direct admin overseas some while ago. There have been several threads on here of people being incorrectly charged and then chased for funds months afterwards.0

If I read a product review I want to know what the products like. I don't want to know or care if someone hasn't been sent a piece of paper!0 -

Hi Guys
I am in the same boat, hoping that mine will show up as well.
I bought a mobile phone in March., requested a receipt in May, and since then countless phone calls and emails to Tesco Direct and I received nothing. I need it - the VAT receipt for insurance claim since i broke the screen and the insurance wont pay me without invoice, i cant locate the delivery note and basically i'm worried the insurance wont pay me at the end since its 2 months im chasing it now.
Any Ideas?0
