My claim for PPI has been sent to Deloitte from the FSCS. They want a policy number or will not proceed. We have never had a policy as the insurance was added to loan in full. I have all the proof of this re letters both from the broker and the mortgage company G E Money no policy numbers on these. Broker Crystal Clear was declared in default but no longer trades how do I move forward with this claim.

Normally the policy number for a loan is the same as the loan account number.
If you don't have the information they're requesting, just reply with copies of the documentation you do have advising that you've never been advised of this information separately.
The other possibility would be to contact GE to see if they have this information recorded separately. This may not be the case as a broker was involved, but sometimes such information is also passed to the mortgage company.Competition wins:
2010 - approx £450. 2011 - approx £800. 2012 - approx £300. 2013 - nothing so far!0 -
Thanks dazza,
I have contacted GE Money say there was no ppi on the loan even though it is on the financial document showing how the loan was distributed. Sent all evidence to Deloitte but still saying they want a policy number. Bangin head brick wall an all that.0 -
If you had PPI, then you definitely would have had a policy! While it's certainly possible for the insurance to be added to the loan, and so repaid as a single monthly premium, I can't see how you can say you never had a policy. We have never had a policy as the insurance was added to loan in full.
Interesting that GE Money say there was never any PPI on the loan. Are you sure the documentation you have is not simply the agreement you received prior to cancelling the PPI element of this finance? You could have effectively cancelled this arrangement within the first thirty days "cooling off" period. The original paperwork, though null and void, would still have remained in your possession.
Regardless, unless you can furnish a PPI account number then it looks like you won't be able to progress your complaint any further.0
