city-link and their service

We sent a £350.00 bike ( trade price) with city-link and it just miraculously disappeared, we were made to deal with an account team leader in Birmingham. She looked into the problem and came back saying they didn't know where it had gone and we had to do a claim form. We were give no proof of anything including where it was last scanned, we are 99% sure it was stolen as the box is huge. We had this happen with TNT once and they got a private investigator to find out what heppened and he got the lost/stolen bike back. When we finished the proof of purchase and claim form we got a random email back a week later asking the weight, truthfully I put 11kg and they turned round and said £10 per kg so £110.00. Is there anything I can do to this seen I have had no proof whatsoever that they have tried to do anything?
Further to this I sent a bike to one man who the bike was just left outside his house his signature ( fraudulently putting a made up customers signature) was made by the driver and the bike was left outside for anyone to take? We complained to the accounts team manager and she said she would investigate and take appropriate action. Well the bike was too big for the customer and he returned it, two weeks later we sent him another one and the same thing happens obviously proving she is not doing anything? what can we do, would we have to take it legally? Any advice would be great. Thanks

How much insurance do you pay for on the shipments ?0

If they are that bad, why do you keep using them?0

As you seem to be in business selling bikes this isn't really a consumer rights issue. All I can suggest is in future make sure you get a service that has an appropriate amount of insurance attached. Also check the T&Cs of the courier service BEFORE using them.0
