    In my37 years of driving I've concluded most car insurance companies have the same basic strategy: attract customers in with low premiums, and then rely on their natural laziness/reluctance to change so they can creep the premiums up year by year without them noticing. By the time you do the insurance company doesn't care 'cos they've fleeced £1000s out of you. Norwich Union did this to me, I finally reacted when they sent me a renewal for £460 or so when some quoting around showed me typically £250-300. I changed insurance fast, and every bit of spammy marketing they send me goes straight in the bin now.

    In your case it may just be they specialise in sportier cars but not so good on the run of the mill. It can be a case of horses for courses.

    we've just renewed the insurance on our little banger. i was actually quite disappointed by how amazing competitive direct line's renewal quote was.. i was hoping to tart for cashback :D but i only found one quote that could beat it... by a whole 6p! it wasnt worth the hassle of switiching for that :rolleyes:
