Help with train from Dundee - London

I'm trying to find as cheap a ticket as possible from Dundee to London. Leaving either late Thursday 14th June or early Friday 15th June and coming back on Thursday 21st June (have to be back by 1800!).

Tickets are for 1 adult and 1 child

I have a family railcard

Saver return is £87.55

I've managed to get it down to £78.20 by using single tickets

Can anybody else help with getting it cheaper than that??

Which of the two legs of the journey is the most expensive or are they both about the same? If one is more than the other, concentrate on improving that, perhaps single journey to Leeds, and then single journey Leeds to London.

Let me know if this works - would be interested to know!!

I looked at what you suggested, but it worked out more expensive about £99
Any other ideas??

(Am desperatly trying to get to the Allergy Show, which I only just found out about! and make a holiday of it at the same time)

If you can alter your dates / time of day it may get a bit cheaper. If £78 is as cheap as it gets, buy the saver return at £87 - it should be an open return with flexible travel times and if your return ticket doesn't get stamped (unlikely on such a long journey but possible) then you can use it again!!
