Just wanted to pop in a wish you well on your MFW journey :).

I use Financialbliss' spreadsheet too (adapted it to my needs) and it is brilliant. I can't stop playing around with all the figures and working out different MFW dates :rotfl:.
  • Have started reading your diary, you look like you're doing great so far! How have you got on so far with quitting smoking? That will be a fantastic achievement in itself. :)

Thanks for the welcome :) The plan for this week is to sort out a spreadsheet- FinancialBliss' spreadsheet guide makes it soooo much easier! Can't wait to be playing with something new!

Thanks FloppyDisk (great name btw!) I just need to find where I hide this extra cash :D Think it falls through my fingers far too easily!
  • Morning MFW's

Been super busy spending money and not saving it :( Had a lovely weekend with kids though so just going to learn from it! We went out for dinner to Pizza Express (got a code and managed to get £7.70 off!) then spent day out at Highland Show on Sunday which was super expensive! Had a great time though, managed to get lots of freebies and deals so all is not lost. Just need to plan a bit better e.g. Should have taken own drinks, we spent loads of juice/water which I really grudge! Got to learn on this journey though :)

Been a bit rubbish at keeping to my commitments too, back on wagon of goodness today!

    1. [STRIKE]Look at budget [/STRIKE] Done! Now to tweak it...
    2. [STRIKE]Low spend day- only need dinner at work (should be taking in but difficult to cook at my mums although do need to be better!)[/STRIKE] done but not great!
    3. Print off maternity policy at work and investigate options need to do tomorrow...
    4. [STRIKE]Do my first Tilly tidy, love that phrase :)[/STRIKE] done! Been doing them last couple of days, really adds up!
    5. Take back ripped dress to shop for refund- MUST do today!!!!

Couple of additions for today too....

    1. Cancel home insurance- completely forgot to do this and a payment came out for it. Don't even own the place any more
    2. Get money for ticket from friend, she backed out of coming to gig tonight after being the one that said she would def come. Managed to sell her ticket on the gummy tree but didn't get what I paid for so she is making up difference. Well, hope she will, she isn't exactly reliable :(

Off to see Robbie Williams tonight so really excited about that!!! Went to see our new house the other day, is looking great so keeping our fingers crossed we get a date of entry soon :) Everything on outside finished but don't know where they are at on inside. Going to get in touch with builders office on Thursday and see if they can give us a date yet. Here's hoping!

Hope you all have lovely money saving days. Is great using this diary as a place to jot down my thoughts and have people commenting- makes me feel accountable for what I'm doing :rotfl:

Don't worry, you'll get there. When you go for it again be accountable to us on here for that as well and it might help!

Enjoying reading your diary - I feel the same about my diary. I begrudge spending if I know I'm going to have to fess up later. :rotfl:

Where does the time go?! Been super busy the past week but now on a well deserved 2 days off :j

    Plans for today....

    1. Change Nationwide account to the one that gives 5% interest on balances done! Will be changed on 6th July
    2. Call about house insurance
    3. Tilly tidy :) done!
    4. Cancel credit expert
    5. Chase friend re: payment for ticket. She promised to pay on Wednesday and still waiting :( Don't like asking friends but she can't not give me the money!

Also going to see developers today to see about when we are likely to get a move in date! I popped in on Saturday and it was a different girl who wasn't entirely sure but reckoned it would be 3 weeks time :j:D:j:D So hoping it will be but trying not to get hopes up too much. DH went last night and had a wander round house and sent me photos whilst I was at work. Got super excited!! Just want to get in and settled in our lovely new home and start making some OP's!

Have managed to get £45 in a savings account which is destined for the mortgage when we get it. Has just been from quidco payments and Tilly tidies so far. Have still got my DH's DMP for 2 more months at £320/ month and had a few big things on this month so not managed to save as much as I wanted but still very much in black in accounts! Trying to keep as much back as possible as will have lots of costs when we do move.

Got DSS coming tonight so need to think of a plan for entertaining him tomorrow now he's on his hols! Something cheap... thinking cap is on!

Hope you are all well :)

    Hello diary

Has been a while again! Not much to report so not been on mine although have been reading others diaries. However....

We are getting our keys on 26th July!!!! :j:D:j:D:j:D:j:D

Hopefully getting in to see house on Thursday, sales agent calling me today to confirm. We have been round and had a peek in windows, is looking great!

Have got £73.52 in OP fund ready to go towards mortgage when we get it. Am going into solicitors sometime this week to sign off final mortgage agreement. Once it's in place then it's full steam ahead (hopefully!) into making OP's.

Have had to buy some stuff for house that will need but has come out of savings. They took a big hit last night but used quidco and discount card from work so was a little :money: :p

Getting very itchy to get into new house and start our new life. We are used to living in city and now going to be living in housing estate in small town so big change! Really looking forward to finally getting in, unpacking and making it our own :) We are on holiday for 2 weeks from the 27th so perfect timing for getting our new place in order!

Hope everyone is enjoying this gorgeous weather :j
