Unsure if final gas bill is correct
Hi,
Received my final gas bill from Eon and was a bit shocked to see the latest quarterly charge being three times the usual.
They say this they have taken 2 actual readings to come to this amount and they have quoted the correct meter number.
01692- on the 20th Feb.
01930 - on the 7th June.
Tonight I took a look at the meter and it says 0.18298.12. Should I read this as 01829? This is a lower number than their reading so should my final bill be lower?
Thank you

I cannot see how you can have a reading of '0.18298.12' i.e. 8 digits with a 0.
Is it a digital display or dials?0 -

I suggest you post a photo of your meter as it displays today0 -
Hi IKE25
On changes of supplier, the gaining supplier will give the losing supplier the meter reading they intend to use to open their new account. The losing supplier will use the same reading to close their account. This is to prevent the same usage being charged twice.
Is the reading we've closed to the same as that being used by your new supplier to open their account?
Usually, in cases where there's doubt about a final reading, what's known as an Agreed Reads Dispute (ARD) will be raised. This is where the two suppliers will agree opening/closing readings between themselves.
However, if I've interpreted your post correctly, it looks as though you've a 5 dial gas meter and the possible discrepancy looks to be, therefore, below the threshold used in these cases.
I could be wrong, though, if I've misinterpreted your post.
