hiya , my hubbie had a new gear box fitted about 6weeks ago .in his golf
now yesterday we broke down due to the gearbox going on us . he phoned up the garage that did the fitting , apparently 6 long bolts were not fiited properly by a mechanic .
my hubbie wants to know if this could have beemn dangerous as the day before we were bombing along the motorway at 70miles per hour.
i think he wants to know what kind of comp he can expect ...

Surely you'd only get compensation if there was some damage caused?

I'd ask for an air freshener for the car. Possibly a new one if I felt like pushing my luck.

erm just read the replies , did you read my first post ,?? the gearbox was fitted badly and resulted in a breakdown on BH weekend , our weekend was mucked up .
surely that would'nt have happened if it had been fitted properly in the first place bearing in mind the work cost 700 quid !!
anyway as i say the boss knew that it had been fitted badly hence the offer of compensation .
and he gave the mechanic who fitted it ,a warning in front of my hubbie
