  • I chose 3 older bridesmaids who could look after themselves and then got given 2 little ones - to keep the family happy - and it did!! Was a wonderful day with no grief from either side of the family (one little one from each). Been married 33 years on Friday - Family is important - not worth upsetting anyone over something that is easily solved. Have the lot and enjoy your day!!!

She's only 2, were having a strictly non religious short ceremony

How on earth does that work?!

As in there gonna be behind me not sat down. The room will look emptier.

And we are having a non religious ceremony at a approved venue, which is short and sweet.

...seriously? You can have a non-religious ceremony in church now?

Do you mean a civil ceremony at a licensed venue? I wondered how you could have a non-religious ceremony in a church!

Might be worth getting somebody else to proofread your invitations. Your guests might get very confused otherwise!! :rotfl:

    I've been Money Tipped!
Why don't you make your kids chief bridesmaids who follow you in and the other nieces and nephews bridesmaids and page boys which are wearing matching cheap primark outfits, but don't walk in with you.

My daughter was a "bridesmaid" at my sisters wedding, aged 3. It meant she wore a pretty dress, sat with us and felt she had been a bridesmaid for the day.

She's only 2 - that makes it a lot easier! As was said, get a pretty dress and she'll be happy. He'll have to deal with the older members of the family!

Could you have two levels of 'bridesmaids' one which is for all the children and means little more than whatever nice dresses they choose and a special photo with you and then the more active role for your daughters?
