Hi,
Just put my other half on my council tax as we no 'officially' live together. Worried though that this will mean we are financially associated and, putting it mildly, his credit rating is less than desirable. Will they financially link us if we're both on the council tax or will they just assume its a house mate type scenario?

Council Tax itself has no impact on your credit record at all,I no longer work in Council Tax Recovery but instead work as a specialist Council Tax paralegal assisting landlords and Council Tax payers with council tax disputes and valuation tribunals. My views are my own reading of the law and you should always check with the local authority in question.0 -

Financial associations are created by the opening of joint financial products, typically current accounts, loans, mortgages, etc.
In short, anything that has 'joint and several' liability (if one doesn't pay, the other has to!).0 -
