Comparing prices when coming to the end of fixed deal

I'm on Scottish Power's Online Fixed Price Energy July 2013 Offer which is coming to an end at the end of the month.
They have offered me the Online Fixed Price August 2014 Offer or I would move onto standard prices.
I want to switch suppliers and was planning on using the Cheap Energy club to do so. However, as I'm registered as being on my current deal, it shows there are no better deals.
Should I change my details to show the new August 2014 offer or in this situation is it better to use other comparison sites? Maybe the cheap energy club is better used as an alert service when better deals come round rather than a comparison service?
I'm sure there is a simple answer, my brain is post gym, cleaning and cooking sunday afternoon frazzled.

Try several comparison sites, some come up with strange calculations which assume that you will go onto the higher tarriff at the end on the deal. However if you get some feel for what might be the cheapest you can do your own calcs and tweak them to suit your circumstances. You need to actually compare tarrifs (unit prices and standing charges) not just the overall pricing. You can only do it properly if you know fairly accurately what your usage is in Kw - jusy comparing annual estimates or direct debit amounts gives wildly innacurate comparisons. I know within £5 what I should be paying over a year and you'd be amazed the varying prices that come up - differences of several hundred sometimes for the cheapest.Never under estimate the power of stupid people in large numbers0

matelodave is quite correct you do need your annual consumption in kWh to most accurately compare deals. if you need any help finding that please contact us via the e-mail address in our profile. We can also advise how the deals we have offered compare with your existing tariff and our Standard prices. Thanks David“Official Company Representative

If you are coming to the end of a Fixed Price deal, it's very unlikely you will find another tariff at the same price or less - You did after all sign up to a fix to protect you from future price rises, well today is that future and all the prices have gone up.
Have a look at 'switchwithwhich' - On the prices page there is a 'Compare Tariff' icon on each of the suppliers entries, hit this and up comes the fine detail of that supplier tariff with the fine detail of your present tariff alongside0
