Offers/viewing etiquette

If you have an offer, you don't need to accept or reject it immediately. So that leaves you free to continue with viewings that are already arranged. I have had it done to me, I think it is rather rude to cancel a viewing once arranged.
This is exactly what we have done so far. Just to clarify we have no intention of accepting without taking it off the market, we are just waiting to see if someone else who isn't in a chain is prepared to match or better it in the next couple of days. To me even this seems a bit off, we have not rejected or asked for more. If they offered asking price tomorrow I would still prefer to show anyone not in a chain round in the next couple of days.
I wouldn't be so wary of the offer if they had seen it twice, but they offered within 1/2 hour of their first viewing starting which is exactly what the people last week did who then changed their minds.
Thanks for all the opinions, it seems that it is not as bad a thing to do as it feels. Hopefully it can get resolved tomorrow, we are not far off asking price now and we would not get people into any kind of bidding war above that0 -

I would be equally wary. It does seem easy come easy go.
Possibly, but as someone who just had an offer accepted after many months of looking, I just knew within 5 minutes of seeing the house in question that it was absolutely *the* right house, whereas the 49 others had all had big drawbacks. In fact I'd go further and say that I knew the minute I got up that this was going to be a big day which could affect the rest of my life ... of course had seen all the photos, floorplans, and also know the area very well, but sometimes you just go with your instincts and feelings, and they're right. Every single one of the other houses I'd wanted a friend's opinion as well, but with this one I didn't even have to think about asking him to a 2nd viewing with me, I just knew, and put the offer in as soon as I returned home from the first visit.0 -
yes, we only viewed it once and put in full asking price offer. Its that kind of area so I feel like I'm being a hypocrite :rotfl:
I am going to wait and see what tomorrow morning brings, could be none of the first time viewers want a second look and the ones making up their minds decide not to offer0
