Gloss over emulsion


Hi my darling son has painted his skirting boards withemulsion

Now is it okay to sand flat and then gloss or should I beburning off and then glossing

    I'm sure it's not the done thing, but I, and others I know, have used emulsion as an undercoat on occasions and the results have been fine...

    Hi GT,
    sand just enough to get rid of any bumps,lumps etc and then use an oil based gloss or Eggshell. You could use a water based one but I'm not a fan of waterbased gloss as it dries too quickly and leaves brush marks...
