Admittedly we're not a honeymoon couple but when I go away with my mother I much prefer not to be sitting next to her on the longhaul flights. As long as we both get an aisle seat, I don't mind if she's on the other side of the aisle or halfway down the plane. (She does talk quite a lot.)
All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.

Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.

Rosa de Filippo, 43, found she and her fiance were separated by an aisle

Gosh, an aisle - separated from her fiance by seventeen whole inches!
    'It just makes me seethe.'

The word perspective springs to mind.

What strikes me most about this 'story' is that they have not even flown yet. The simplest option would surely be to ask at the airport if they can change seats?

It's been like that for ages with loads of lost cost carriers inc. Thomson, what's new here?

Can't we all just throw our car keys into a hat and sit next to the person who's key we draw out.
Mind you, last time I tried that I got an AA box.
  • Yes, Thomas Cook and Thomson both do it, and have been doing so for years now, this isn't a recent thing. easyJet do it as well as Ryanair, Monarch and even BA.
