SCS delivery delay

I ordered a sofa on 27th April via SCS finance. The 8 weeks are up on 22nd June. I am told someone will call me on 25th June, however they don't actually know when the delivery would be. I appreciate that delays happen but no one phoned me to state the delivery would be past the 8 weeks and also the fact they don't know when the delivery will be worries me.
They said they will phone the manufacturers tomorrow, however I just want to know where I stand in terms of cancelling the order if they continue to mess us around.
Thanks in advance.

No you're not a vegetarian if you eat any animal or fish, so do not insult genuine veggies by calling yourself one!

What is the actual wording on the contract relating to delivery times?0
-
Hello Arcon5
We will take reasonable steps to fulfil your order within the relevant delivery lead time (in weeks) as stated in the order. Please note however, that all delivery lead times quoted are approximate only and delivery may vary by up to 4 (four) weeks earlier or up to 4 (four) weeks later than the stated delivery lead time. All delivery lead times start from the day of the contract between you and us is informed. If you choose to pay for your order by one of our easy payment options the approximate delivery times will start once you have agreed and signed your finance documentation and the order.
Many Thanks
Helen

A lead time with 50% leeway, really? Is this explained to the customer at the time of purchase?0 -
Hello,
The 4 weeks leeway is applicable on any order, whether it be an 8 week lead time or 18 week lead time. This should always be explained to the customer at the point of sale and is in the contract the customer signs.
Many Thanks
Helen

One wonders why you get so many complaints ...0 -
scs are a complete joke really, this method of messing people around for months on end is ridiculous and should be stopped, except that they sneak it in to documentation and so many people fail to read all the fine print in the excitement of the moment........
It is pretty much a given that their sales people do NOT highlight the fact that you may have to wait for many many months to get the sofa you thought you purchased, if at all. The industry has been wrecked by retailers like this. After being messed about by them years ago, I made the decision never to buy from them or similar retailers again. More people should vote with their feet !0 -
No it wasn't explained at the point of sale nor did I receive phone calls to let me know what was going on. I wouldn't buy from you again, terrible communication and service! No you're not a vegetarian if you eat any animal or fish, so do not insult genuine veggies by calling yourself one!
