Concerns about Childminder

I've not read everything - how old is your DD? Can she tell you anything about her day - the bit about putting the stuff back seems very negative to me and I would want to know much more. Children can't articulate easily and you need to read between the lines.
What does the CM do with your child, does she take her to groups, swimming, the park? I did this job many moons ago, but had to show evidence of an active and well-structured day to LA inspectors.
tbh, if CM is off with you, I would seriously worry what she was like with my child. As others have said, it's better for her if there are other kiddies around, even if just for part of her time there.
You aren't happy, or you wouldn't be questioning it now. Act on your instincts.

If I was you, and you are still having problems finding a replacement CM, contact some of the CM that are already full, and ask them if they have any spaces, and if not, can they recommend someone who does. It is amazing what the CM-network can bring up.
Not trying to alarm you either, but I once nearly chose a CM, only for another to whisper in my ear. I don't think it was anything to do with sour grapes but I was very glad.
Previously we had a older CM, who was lovely with our children. However, when we moved, we had to find another, and the only one was one with children, and I was a bit worried (favouritism etc) but she is absolutely fantastic and is a second mum to my children. (If fact they have already asked me 2x this am when are we going to CM).
Hope you sort out something soon.0 -
Hi all,
Update:
Last night I went onto Opportunity Links to try and find another Childminder. I spoke to two and both phoned me back today to say they couldn't look after my little girl for various reasons!
I arrived at the Childminder this morning and she was quite pleasant. She opened the door with a smile, greeted us both and gave me a run down of the days activities she had planned. I am going to ask to have a word with her tomorrow anyway. But I was just wondering is her change in attitude a coincidence or has she come across this thread....hmmmmm I wonder. My little one said she had a nice day and asked if she could go back tomorrow. And yesterday when the Childminder used the phrase "put this back and put that back", she was referring to the cushions from her couch. I
My daughter is back at preschool after the half term holiday and I'm happy about that but I am still going to try and phone a few more.
Thanks.
For God knew in His great wisdom
That he couldn't be everywhere,
So he put His little Children
In a loving mother's care.0
