Firefly - have been having a read of the first thread you sent me. Thought I would read about the basil first. You learn something every day don't you. Didn't realise there were 4 different types. Presume its the sweet basil that I have got, it doesn't say on the pot. Which ones do you grow? Also didn't realise that when the seedlings appear I had to stand it in a pot of shallow water! There is so much to learn. Will have to progress slowly.

DS's music is driving me mad - hope he is going out soon!

By the way incase I forget to say I don't think I will have internet access until Tuesday at Bridlington. We are staying at an Express by Hol Inn and it is quite expensive usually, although after this month I should get it free as I am a gold member.Don't like taking lappy into the pubs for dinner - doesn't seem very romantic. DH's sister will be with us for a while anyway so must be sociable

hiya sylv, yes, it's usually the sweet basil they sell in the garden centres,
have always stood my seedlings for most plants on trays of water so they'll drink from the bottom,
have to make sure the waters at room temperature as well as they don't like cold water,
they are a delicate plant but well worth tenderly looking after x

Good Morning,

Thanks everyone will try hard to enjoy my break. Really enjoying these short breaks but missing our foreign hols although saving a fortune so not all bad!
Hope everyone has lots of wins to tell me about when I get back. Will bring you all back some Bridlington Rock.
