Hi all!
Going well in the garden - weather is ok at the mo with a cooling breeze.
Have been tackling the 'ouch' very tall shrub/tree thing in the garden! Do not have fond memories last year when it all went horribly wrong with that particular specimen!
However, no worries and no ladders! I know better now!!! Have used long loppers (and saw) with feet firmly on the ground and have managed, more or less to get it back to a fairly reasonable size
I had to come in because I could hear frantic chirping
When I came round to front gate ....... there was the cutest wee sparrow chick calling for its mum. Local moggies patrol the front area  (my cat is not interested - too well fed and lounging as I type!).
Managed to gently shoo the wee critter (he/she has limited flying - managed a few low level yards!) into the back garden where I know there are nests. Moggies tend not to venture into my back garden because I have a lovely doggie visitor (family) who comes to stay, guess he gives them the heebie-jeebies! Came back in house and thankfully, I think, mum and chick have been reunited!! Omg ...... I am such a mother hen!!!!! :rotfl::rotfl:
Just off out now to carry on while weather is fairly kind.

Glad everyone seems to be having a good day. I was too but now DS is playing some dreadful music full blast and DD and her friend have arrived back too. I have been naughty again (with lots of encouragement from DH) and booked a 3rd night to our short break near York. We are now having a night in Bridlington on Tuesday - looking forward to it. Saved £10 by going direct to owner rather than booking on line so pleased with that. DH really loves Brid so he is really cheerful now too. Just hope kids manage 3 nights without wrecking the house too much.Mar Wins :- £2 GfK Media

Good idea Katie asking your dad to mind the tickets. I'm terrible for misplacing something.
Hope you managed to get your dailies done Sheils and fire**fly
Good luck with the lotto ILCDidn't have a number last night!
Aw Alfie, you're such a sweetie looking after the little chicks :A you'll have to have another kid!
No news on mum yet in her scan, she's having right now. No news is good news I suppose!Big thanks to all who contribute to the forums. Be lucky everyone and be safe!0 -
Looks like everyone is having a busy day. I have done some gardening and washing etc. Fred is has been grumbling on and off about the dailies but won't hear of giving them a miss today.
Glad to see you have booked an extra day Sheils, well done on getting it cheaper, you are an expert at this now. I am sure the kids will be OK.
Wingo - hope its good news about your Mom. Big hugs.
Alfie - love your little chic story. I always worry about them if I see one away from its Mum.
Good idea to give the tickets to your Dad as its too easy to misplace them and then you would be very disappointed.
Must get on and do the tea.
SYLBIG THANKS TO ALL WHO POST THE COMPETITIONS0 -

Thinking of your mam wingo hope all turns out well.
I had the eye shadow pallette from the Glamour comp too Katie. It's really lovely isn't it.
Had another nice surprise win today - a day pass to Kew Gardens. Very pleased with it.
Well done on booking your extra day for your break sheils. I love Bridlington.
Take care Alfie.
How are your evening primrose plants doing fire**fly? I lost a few when the blackbirds decided the moist compost I planted them in was perfect for maintenance on their nest. Luckily they did not destroy them all and I have some good little plants now.Be Lucky Everyone0 -
