God, bring back the John Bull printing set - them were the days!!!
:D Now I am showing me age!!! :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:[/QUOTE]
Oh Alfie, re above, you are taking me back now, and showing my age, I had a John Bull printing set, used to love it. Learnt to type on an old Remington as well. Learnt shorthand too which is not used often these days I don't think.
Thanks for the info about the herbs. I have got it on a word doc with my other bits about herbs from firefly. Hadn't picked up on the fact that I shouldn't pick the stems of the basil. I just picked them, they were lovely I have to say. I don't have a greenhouse, I have them on the lounge windowsill and the basil is really vibrant and the smell is amazing, better than any air freshener
Glad you managed to have a doze firefly, I should go and have a proper rest if I were you. Hope SIL's OH is OK and big hugs for you all.
Have a lovely time at Bingo tonight with your Mom Wingo and hope you all win. Big hugs for tomorrow when you Mom goes back in. Big hugs for her.
Keaskin - thanks for pointing out the problem with the comp and glad it is sorted. Good luck with your comping.

Lol! Sylv - you are a girl after me own heart!!
Also learnt on Remington manual typewriter so many years ago (they are now listed as antiques::eek:eek:)) - when learning, we had to type to music :rotfl::rotfl: However it worked for me. Can recall, we couldn't make mistakes, not like nowadays when errors are quickly amended! Scary if you pressed the wrong key :eek: However, it did me proud, did ok and once I had got to grips later with scary electric typewriters  I was doing fine. Also did pitmans shorthand but got quite bored with that
,

Just finished the 5 mile dog hike! Lovely weather for it....not too hot.
A bit of roadwork before the fields which helps keep her toenails done!!!
I do envy all you gardeners....something I have never enjoyed, cutting the lawn is as good as it gets!!:o
Alfie, I imagine you in a little cottage with a veg patch and orchard!!!
Managed a £1 scratch card win today...does that count???

Thanks MSE Ian :T and fire**fly too :A
That's a good hike moosie! I bet you fall asleep before the dog does!Speculate to accumulate...that's what I would do on £1 scratch!
Sylvia, I never thought of doing herbs on window sill. I was worried cats next door or jasper might ruin them in garden. I like the sound of lovely fresh smelling herbs in house! Do they attract flies?
Alfie, I am ashamed to say ....I still have an old typewriter in the house! My sis gave it to my DD to learn typing when she was into story writing and it's still in the house....gathering dust!
Went to bingo with mum & sis and my sis won £200 between us :jThat's cheered mum up as she was on a bit of a downer. Think it's nerves about tomorrow. The good thing is she is starting to eat food again so she is getting a bit of an appetite back. Hopefully she will be off feeding tube in a few months
Big thanks to all who contribute to the forums. Be lucky everyone and be safe!0 -
Well done on the bingo win wingo. Glad your mum has cheered up and getting her appetite back a bit. It is great what they can do nowadays.
It sounds like they are going to be able to operate on my aunt and only lose her appendix. Don't know yet if she will need Chemo too.
Hope all goes well for your mum tomorrow. xMar Wins :- £2 GfK Media
