have used the bath before when we lived in the old house as well alfie :D used to put all the houseplants in, it's a great idea :j
don't think sylv has a bath though am sure she just has a
    shower,
have also used old washing up bowls to place pots in outside in shady areas while away,
if you can't/don't have any deepish trays,
the plants will drink from the bottom as much as they need,
you can get watering systems but they're expensive & not worth it in
my humbles if it's only for a week or a few days,
then there's the option of making a home made watering system
which I've done before but it's so faffy doing I never bothered again :o
easier to just place in deep trays :o

tis hot here out as well alfie
    am keeping cool inside :D

postie just bought me another book :D:j:j
one for mates LO again, he loves them :j:j

have a lovely time at the pub Katie :j
off to find the op :D

Well done on yon win :T:T:T:T

Yep, use old washing up bowls here to - they are so handy!!!!

Same here with the home made watering system failed miserably anyhow so can't be doing with that so won't be doing that again!!!

ILC - I have done the same re euro, lotto, tb - fingers crossed for us xxxxxx

ff - puddy and me are finding the heat quite unbearable - :o have got all doors, windows open and fans going but still so hot!!!!

I had manic thought of putting tent up in garden for night time re cool air :D - previous girl guide dib dob and all that, as is so much cooler out there ......... but I am a wimp........ would prob be scared of all the night life and all the strange noises - and would do run inside!!!!!

Sylv, just had another thought re plants - sorry should have thought of it earlier!!! Brain is frazzled in this heat!!!!

Self watering plant pots! Know maybe its a wee bit late for you now but something to think of in the future.

The pots are available in all good stores, various sizes - you plant your plants in the top section and there is a bottom section, quite deep where you put your water in .... also should be an indicator re water level. Ideal if you are going away for few days, they do work cos we have used them. Hope this helps a wee bit. xxxxxx

Well done on book win FF.

    Hope your plants survive Sylvia.

Had a nice little walk out at Threave Castle to see the Ospreys and we had a lovely view of the father and 2 chicks through the telescope. Then we went shopping but staying in now as it was too hot even when I was hanging the washing out.Livingroom doesn't get the full sun for another hour or so so must go and see what DD has done with the fan for then.

Yip the Lakes has got a warning now FF - that must be about unheard of! There is a field not too far from here which has been flooded in a part of it for years and it has nearly dried up . Have seen ducks and swans on it before now. Poor DS3 is having a hard time cooking in a kitchen all the time in this heat. He is looking thinner by the day and is working extra days so that he can get off for The Wickerman Festival which makes it worse. Says they have wet towels round their necks.

How gutting re devastation of miles of heathland/ forest burned to the ground and habitat/wee creatures lost - 20-30 years lost :o

However, it seems maybe that the culprit has been caught?

I am no expert, have read that maybe from newspaper reports that a 16 year old may have been responsible and there has been an arrest.

Not going there either way - who knows, I don't whats going on and not going to judge until more info available, but god dam it ....... a 16year old!!!! If true - How very sad!!!! And why oh why did you do it!!! xxxxx

There's always something before the summer hols Alfie. :( I make sure I know where my kids are and who with, what they do etc. would hate to think they were getting in trouble.
Well done on the book win fire**fly :)
Sylvia, my school job has finished for summer but I'm still working over the hols with my other job doing play schemes etc, although I haven't got as many hours in.
I was late for work today. :o No one told me that it was half an hour early start, I strolled in 20 mins later thinking I was 10 mins early! I felt really bad about I but I wasn't told. :o
DD has had a great time at Center Parcs. She brought us all little gifts back too bless her!

Oddies, that must have been lovely getting your parents wedding album back and how lucky that it was found again! :)
