So coupon mad do you think I should appeal as described above ,naming myself as the driver or just keep ignoring ? It's been 4 months now. If I just keep ignoring then eventually end up with a court claim, which seems unlikely ,I could defend it along the lines of its unenforcable ,you have lost nothing as parking is free ,16 mins overtime at £0 per hour is nothing ,kind of thing ,that I remember reading 4 months back? Thanks
At some point they will send a Letter Before Action, I believe that will be the best to respond, if you get one PM me please0 -

It's a hard one to call really. If it was a postal fake PCN to the keeper then I think if it were me, I would write a letter in the name of the registered keeper naming you (name and address) as the person who may have been driving that day and asking PE to send you the details so you can appeal 'as the driver has never had a Notice about this'. Remember that letter would be written from the registered keeper, not from you.
PE are taking quite a number (hundreds) to at least the first 'small claims papers served' stage nowadays - and they have all been ignorers. So I would get the keeper to name you (not write out of the blue naming yourself as the driver) because really you want PE to send you a Notice to Driver so you can start the appeal procedure and win at POPLA with our help.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Thanks coupon mad.i am the driver and the keeper ,does that make a difference? I am at the letter before notice stage now, just checked.:j0

Letter before Action means it's a late stage and you are too late to appeal and if you are the keeper and driver you can't really write and name yourself as driver! So on balance I would stay quiet and if you do get small claim papers obviously they can't be ignored. You can get a robust defence on pepipoo if needed.PRIVATE 'PCN'? Thanks coupon mad .i did write to Aldi complaining way back when it happened but they didn't have the courtesy to reply! And I enclosed a copy of my receipt, way over the £30 I see mentioned on here. I will keep ignoring then as there doesn't seem to be another option for now and wait and see if they send a small claims .i will update if I hear more ! Thanks again to you all you regulars giving up your time every day ,much appreciated

Here's a post I made earlier on a similar PE LBA thread on Pepipoo. Join the fight:PE seem to be pursuing Aldi customers at the moment via LBAs - part of an obvious strategy. Aldi surely knows something about this and must have been consulted and given approval to this! given the apparent volume of posts raised here. If we deal with say 5% of the total here, then there must have been hundreds issued this past week. Aldi must be complicit. What a chance they must be taking with their PR. Are they getting a rake-off?
Bombard their Facebook page. The more hassle they get about the fact that their agent is threatening to take their customers to court the better. Ask on FB if they were consulted about the LBAs and if they gave approval to PE to take this course of action. Ask if they are getting a back-hander - this will put them on the spot. Failure to answer will allow the public to draw their own conclusions. Tell them that they will be required to answer these questions in court should you be issued papers by PE and end up there.
Here's a strong(ish) complaint today - add more to the fight against this appalling situation.

Just wondering? Are letter before action a step past debt recovery/ zenith ? I didn't get any of those debt ones.i have been trying the phone number given on pepipoo/ Facebook but there now seems some doubt as to whether its an Aldi number or in fact parking eye,so am e mailing Aldi and fb messaging them too.lots of complaints on Facebook about PE !:j0

Yes lots of complaints, please add yours there as well, they are having a few problems with their customers on there, the more people who complain about their situation it will add more pressure for them to act on this situation. When posting a parking issue on MSE do not reveal any information that may enable PPCs to identify you. They DO monitor the forum.
We don't need the following to help you.
Name, Address, PCN Number, Exact Date Of Incident, Date On Invoice, Reg Number, Vehicle Picture, The Time You Entered & Left Car Park, Or The Amount of Time You Overstayed.

You are right to wonder about this and not 'let it lie' in the light of the Aldi Facebook page.
That phone number will be open on Monday and it seems it's Aldi Swindon IMHO, I have no reason to think otherwise. The person that posted on Aldi fb that it's a PE phone number is getting muddled between the two Rachels I think. Obviously the 'legal eagle' Rachel at PE isn't going to be answering customer service phone calls!
Really no idea why everyone is believing that the phone number is a PE number when I have no reason to think it is, even the Parking Prankster has changed his blog:

If no joy on the phone, then post a complaint on the facebook wall like everyone else has (the more the merrier!) and/or email customer-services@aldi.co.uk making a major complaint and pointing out to Aldi that you were ignored when you complained to them before.PRIVATE 'PCN'? Well in conclusion the charge / invoice has been cancelled.after trying the phone number all Friday afternoon I tried once today and it rang straight away.answered as Aldi parking dept.i said I wanted my ticket cancelled and after giving my reg no and receipt no ,the very polite staff member said it had been done . I had no response to my FB message or email at all and was just about to drive to Aldi to see the manager and complain loudly .i hadn't been back to the store since the fake PCN and now it has been cancelled I never will again! So that's one less customer for Aldi to worry about
thanks to everyone for your help .if you are in the same situation please call them and hopefully the matter can be resolved for you :j0
