coolio, thanks to you and OP

Bit of a lurker on here for several reasons:
    (A) I never seem to discover a bargain
    (B) I always seem to have missed the boat on the 1p items and glitches
    (C) I'm intimidated by the genius of this thread ;) and can never get my head around how to make money by comparing prices
    (D) it moves so darn quick

But now I feel I may have contributed something of value I may pop my head in a bit more often :)

School uniforms :mad: Ive just had DS2 uniform list for next year. Absolutely shocking!! I'll not have much change from £500 by the time Ive done :( . There's absolutely no option for cheaper alternatives at all. They hold you to ransom by only making the stuff available in one place. It really gets on my you know what's
Oh that was a rant :o

Yes our school is the same, they say we are not even allowed to buy school shirts or trousers from supermarkets as not school regulation, I have known some children to be sent home because the school has said their uniform is not up to scratch. It is disgusting the prices of it all.

Same here! Trousers and skirts are embroidered with the school logo, and we get to pay the princely sum of £27 per pair for the pleasure. My DS can ruin a pair in no time because he trips and falls alot and can put holes in them in no time.
I do believe it's something that can't be enforced but the alternative is flouting the rules and make your child stick out like a sore thumb? My DS2 will do enough of that thanks to his autism, so I don't want to make it any worse
