I do read your post, the prices that you do collect in M's is very useful for most because M's prices are hard to find.

Long list can be daunting though and there is nothing much you can do about that.

What I have noticed though is that your approach to shopping is more extreme than most of us on here - price per 100g, price per unit, price per ml is just a tad too far for most of us :) and I say that in the nicest possible way. Just because you don't think it is a good offer someone might :)

Then there is those of us who don't have a Lidl, Aldi, HB, 99p store on our doorstep to get the cheapest of the cheapest. For example if I go to Ellon - I have to make do with Tesco, that is it, there is no other shop there, so I'm not going to go on a 40 mile detour just to by something that is cheap in Lidl - my hand is forced.

Hope I haven't spoken out of turn....

    Yep :)

Next time I think I will experiment with some other desserts to see if I can find something that will compare with morries like the choc pudding was before.

I think ive had most of the desserts with no luck. its only thanks to you that the n/y c/c came to light. so I think the task is to find a product that is not meant to STILL be in the offer. ie the monte or the n/y c/c are not displayed in the offer fridges or on line in the meal deal choices. but if you search finest meal deal others show. these others are probably the best ones to try.

Oops - I missed your post, until it was quoted!

The price per 100g etc. thing is just a way of identifying a good offer. After all for :money:you wouldn't want me to list more expensive options surely? It gives an objective way of working out the best value - although sometimes admittedly it relies on buying different quantities, or buying over-much to make a 'saving' (based on per unit price) ... and then if that causes waste, that's not money-saving!!

Agree with you on the different stores. Some of those stores, needless to say:rotfl:(well.. it wasn't then, was it?), are farther away from me than others. I also hope the comparison options also allow people to use the prices of another store sometimes when the rivals aren't available! The Avs M items can be bought in T (where T has an equivalent available) if you don't have an A available, as a 'next best' option, although you don't get the 10%, and you are in the hands of T PP coming back with the M price properly.

For me, even with an A that's a little farther away (if the nearest doesn't stock a line for example), it can sometimes, with the 10%, and more so with the glitching, be worth travelling there even if the cheaper store is nearby! The same is not true of travelling out for a T or a Sains. - that makes no sense, as the price match does not give anything that covers for the fuel used on the journey.

There is more likely still some work to do on my M list to sort out the order, hopefully some of the similar items are near each other. I've thought about putting them into separate 'shelf' headed listings.

With price per unit (which isn't always calculated precisely out - I think someone's smaller Heinz baby foods on Avs T work out cheaper than the ones on my M list:o), the lists I do aim to highlight some of the better options (although there's always a subjectivity in that and people's tastes etc.) - some things inevitably will be omitted especially where the price per unit consciously hits me and I think it is too much.

Near misses from M list (just a couple, there are several more completely different products I could mention): Velvet Crunch Crisps, Thai Sweet Chilli and Velvet Crunch Crisps, Cheddar & Onion. Have been - are - £1 in M but price per unit on them I've noticed works out quite higher than the one on other 6 pack crisps at £1.

The previous 'good value' crisps were 66.7p/100g (Velvet Crunch about 80-odd p at their £1.00) - £1.00 offers for 6 working out usually at 66.7p - but that 66.7p (or even 10% off it) I am now considering quite expensive. It's a top-end limit to me now. Higher than that and it's omitted. I am looking at 40p/100g - or lower! Folks - it's all trying best to save much money as I can!!:D

I've spent a nice couple of hours in the garden taking the weeds out of my tree pots

Between 4 trees there are 8 tomato plants, I think from the home compost :)

BUT. I used a mix of home and shop bought compost. The home stuff had been sieved through and there were no unwelcome bits in it. I've just found chunks of glass in each pot

After everything I've gone through with my finger, absolutely the last thing I want or need is to cut myself on glass while doing my gardeny stuff

I feel a complaint coming on
