I could go into the reasons as to why this has happened. However I have decided not to do so, not least to spare you all of it, but that I fear it will never been fully understood.
I am therefore not bothering to do so. I feel my general point about the 'discounters' comes across in my last post, so I have I now decided not to provide the examples and explain it. Normal folks just find it boring:rotfl::o. Unfortunately, for all the useful information I provide, I will remain destined to be unutilised and doubted by many people who could otherwise have greatly benefited.
I am not fully sure why I have posted this post, although this last paragraph itself can never be explained because it would only cause more upset and [truncated and not even written at all as it will as it doubtless offend some people and therefore will remain destined to be misunderstood].
Savvy, I'm sure loads of people value your comments - even if they sometimes don't quite understand all the finer points. I'm not sure what has made you think otherwise but, please, don't get upset about it.ELITE 5:2

Cheer up Savvy.I do read your posts.Don't understand them sometimes. It is not worth me shopping at discount stores because I have so many wombles to use. Also locality comes into
where I shop.I'm only a short distance from Sada but miles away from other shops and I'm not getting my car out to save a few pence. It would cost more in petrol.
Don't forget not so many people are on line during the daytime so you wont get so many thanks. Long post from me.Most unusual .Must be catching it from you:Dto your final sentence.
Nah, you've misunderstood me about the discounters now I haven't explained it.
So I'm now going to have to...:o..
I think that what are perceived as the deep 'discounters' often really aren't. My point is do not ignore them (and you'll note I put 'discounters' in quotes) but sometimes 10% cheaper than a major supermarket works out better than the "discounters". Most items, I feel, are the same price in the 'discounters' as in the majors. They do (but then so do the majors) have their own discount items, which are lower priced than anything available elsewhere. The 'discounters' can also occasionally be cheaper than elsewhere. However, quite often, even when they are cheaper, you'll find that shopping at A will beat the discounters. Due to 10% off the cheapest major competitor working out slightly cheaper than a discounter's straight cheaper price. If that makes sense.
An example - unseasonal and the prices may be a little out - of where they are like brands, but instead the branded item is still sometimes cheaper, is the own brand mince pies at 80p for a pack of 6. That was cheaper than the standard price of Mr Kipling mince pies (albeit that major supermarkets 'value' range could be same price or cheaper than the discounter's own brand). The own brand at the discounter was cheaper wasn't it? Well, no. Mr Kipling 6 Mince Pies were on offer at Morries at the time for 85p. So - what's your point??? 80p own brand, like the brand but it was still cheaper? However, Avs Morries would have made it 85p-8.5p - and therefore Mr Kipling bought in a major supermarket (and compared vs a competitor) worked out cheaper than the "discounter"!
All this is leading to the conclusion:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:... that I (roll arounds are a subtle hint to some connection with my fascinating (at times), exciting and somewhat rewarding disorder - without ignoring or undermining the experiences of others who suffer (for want of a better word(?)) more adversely) - that I am looking at some Heron Foods frozen veg. now, that I have found today at 80p, to see if it's better value than 10% cheaper than £1.00 found in the major rivals of A - and therefore needing to be removed from my M list as not that savvy after all. (Thing is Heron's is 907g, the majors is 1kg... I'm just going to work it out...):cool:0 -

Did you enjoy you're wee posting spree?!
Yes I felt lonely though :rotfl:0 -
I think I could express more succinctly:
Downside is because I spend more time in M, doing the full check there, that means I don't have the time to check the discounters, for example, and the 'pound shops', as much as I would like. Therefore, my message is please do not overlook the discounters! They may sometimes well be cheaper than 10% off elsewhere! (It's usually just the special buys though.)
One I've found today: Heron Foods have 6 eggs at 89p (I think they're free range, somewhat:o I can't remember if they are now - and I was there only an hour ago!).
Cheaper than the general £1 found elsewhere (Aldi and the major supermarkets)? However... M Free Range Eggs 97p - Avs M therefore, in theory, 87p. So the major supermarket is still cheaper (for those who can M-comp). Off now to see if those frozen foods are or aren't...0 -

I don't get upset about such things!:D* Not emotional in those areas unlike most people are!:)
But...not to be misunderstood though!... it's always more complex than that, I can feel very emotional from some things and regardless of whether I may or may not show it (just like everyone I think!).

Savvy get a grip forget the thanks button :rotfl:
You provide a world of info for people who have these different shops on their doorstep and are willing to move around.
I tend not to spend £20 in one go with 8-10 comparable items. I am more go in when something is on offer and stock up big style :rotfl:.
For instance mince from lidl a few weeks back £1 per 500g ,free parioli toms/cheap dolmio sauces 6 months plus back from asda, cheap pasta at the same time, free 5 beans so all I need if anything is peppers, mushrooms and an onion for a meal. Not to mention the cheese I still have
I am not travelling for that when asda is a 3 minute walk away :rotfl:When The Fun Stops Stop0
