Has anybody any advice or had travel insurance given for the US being over 65 with cancer?
I know it won't be cheap and quite possibly not insurable at all but thought i'd ask.
TIA.

Depends on the information provided in a medical questionnaire that will need to be gone through when asking for a quote. The comments I post are personal opinion. Always refer to official information sources before relying on internet forums. If you have a problem with any organisation, enter into their official complaints process at the earliest opportunity, as sometimes complaints have to be started within a certain time frame.0 -
Hi,
I used insurepink.co.uk . They look like a breast cancer only insurance company, but they cover all cancers. Or - they will talk to you at least, and make a proper assessment. It can be pretty personal, they ask you all your treatment and exact surgeries, drugs etc.
I paid about £250 for insurance for a 3 week european cruise, but I was only 6 weeks post treatment, although I was in remission.
It's really tough to get insurance actually, so my sympathies to you - especially as it's a time when you often want to travel to see people or recuperate.
We were going to go without insurance as my situation is quite stable, but found somewhere in the end. I did find some places would do insurance but specifically excluded any claim arising from the cancer - which means you can at least have normal loss/cancellation cover, just not if it's due to the cancer.0 -
Thank you both for your replies, I will phone a few companies tomorrow, keeping my fingers crossed!0
