Shower pumps.

Doing some redesigning and the plumber has recommended we have a shower pump as the pressure won't be that good.
Exactly how noisy are they though? Are there good and not so good makes? Do we need to test the 'bar' first?
There are some bargains on ebay, Grundfos and Salamander mainly, but could do with some feedback, if people would be kind enough..

we've a shower pump in the loft, only a cheap one at about £100. they are a bit noisy, u can hear it downstairs when its on.0
