Flat as My Roof

I wonder if you can help me.I've recently had a fibreglass flat roof installed and noticed that after it rained there were patches of the roof where water puddled which became light in colour.

They faded when the water dried and the sun came out and the roof returned to its original colour.

It's rained again and the roof has again become a bit like a dalmatian with light patches in parts and the majority being dark.

Has anyone else experience of this and if so how did you cure it.

Appreciate any assistance you are able to provide :)

It is a myth that flat roofs are "flat". They should be laid to a fall and water should not puddle. A typical fall would be one in forty, or perhaps one in sixty. With the former this is 25mm per metre - hence no puddles.

Dust off your copy of the technical literature supplied with your order confirmation for the roof. See what is said about falls. If you have no copy then establish the name of the roof system used one and check this out.

Many thanks Furts - much appreciated .

The contractor recognises that there was a failure to put a gentle slope in the roof which causes the problem so we now start the process of correcting it. Inconvenient but at least we have a solution.

Onwards and upwards - many thanks to you for your help - much appreciated.
