They are available in the "store" for free

How do I access 'The store'?
get used to using things like W8 search
so drag your mouse to the left side of the screen
this brings up the charms bar
select the magnifying glass icon. that is search
you can type whatever you are searching for in the search box
If you want to search a specific location(in this case store)
then select it from the list of options. you see store here

An old thread I know but I thought I'd add a useful bit of information.
As described in the second half of this 'howtogeek' article I carried out the modification of the .exe files for each Windows 7 game to make them run in Windows 8 using the free download HxD hex editor ... a very simple and painless process once I realised that you have to work on Win 7 32 bit files.
I put the games folder with all the edited files and CardGames.dll into the Program Files directory of my Windows 8 machine as instructed and ....... nothing worked!
Silly me, I was forgetting that my Windows 8 is 64bit. I moved the folder to the Program Files (x86) folder and then all the games ran perfectly :j
So point one ... the games need to be copied from a Windows 7 32 bit machine because the 64bit versions are not editable as described in the article, and
point two ... if you're planning on using the edited versions on a Windows 8 64 bit machine, make sure you put them in the Program Files (x86) folder.
Hope that prevents someone experiencing the frustration I went through.
