Which is the best tour for London Bus/ Boat?

Hi we are off to London at the begining of July 2 adults 2 , aged 8, and 14 years( eldest mentally disabled) and wondered if anyone had any experience of sight seeing bus or boat tours, which would be best, and the most enjoyable for children. If anyone has any information about seeing London with a disabled child I would also be very grateful!
Thanks in advance:)

We went in the snow in January, we did see the boat tours, but i'd go fo the bus mate, at least you get the in land side of things and I bet once you've loaded the gang on, and done that you could squeeze a quick boat trip in after, or do a walk from wesminster bridge down either side to London bridge, its a fair trek but good views and plenty of pit stops

Suggestion is to spend a little time and find a standard red double decker bus.. Chose a good route, Victoria to St. Paul's for example, you will see so much for a fraction of the cost. Te alternatives,I.e. tour bus could cost you £100 as a family if not careful

I recommend the Original tour using Tesco points and converting to Rewards. Adults £8.50 points and kids £4.50 points. Apart from the bus tours with great live guides, there free boat trips and walks like Rock and Roll and Jack the Ripper.

Icrp53's post above also is a good idea. Take an A to Z with you and follow the route in the book. I find this best on a Sunday or Bank Holiday when the roads have less traffic.

I took my grandsons on the London Rib Tour - costs a lot, but you can use Tesco vouchers. It was excellent, the boys absolutely loved it and so did I.

I have done the Duck tour with 2 6yr olds, they loved it, especially going into the river, was just about the right length of time for them as well,

we also used the Original tours, with Tesco points converted to Days Out vouchers. It was brilliant, we hopped on and off the buses for 24 hours and did the boat tour down from the Tower of London to Westminster. It really was a good way to familiarise yourself with the main areas of tourist London.
