Wrong default date on file

I had an overdraft problem back in 2009.
The co-op bank sent me a default notice in 2009 but when I checked my credit file recently the default as a date of 2011 entered.
Obviously this extra 2 years will greatly impact my credit worthyness in the future.
As I still have the old default, will this prove the real date should be 2009?

It is possible/probable that the bad debt was sold on and a fresh default processed - this is a common problem.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure - MSE ForumTeam0

write to the current owner (who reported the later default) and complain. Tell them to correct it.
If they do not or ignore you, go to FOS.:beer:0
