Hi there i'm about to buy a second house, it was 7 years back when we brought our first and simply cant remember the process, and need clarity on a few other bits?
so far
Mortgage agreed and valuation booked in next week
we obviously have funds and a conveyer sorted but now for
Building cover (direct line we use on the other one?)?
Mortgage protection to cover accident, unemployment, sicknes
we have life insurance already with Aviva I think
do we need a separate critical illness policy? this seems to be a fair chunk of funds
What else do we need to arrange, any help would be great cheers.

Hi,
Speak to your current insurer if you are happy with them regarding cover. Our mortgage says we need to have cover from exchange so I spoke to our current insurer(LV) & they said just to give them a call on exchange day & they will then hold cover on both houses for us until we exchange & then just swap it onto the new houseObviously we will have to pay a bit extra for the new house but it's bigger.

No we are keeping both houses so need totally new policies for this one, its just which ones, ie critical illness or not to bother due to expense0

I assume you ate letting one house out. So why do you need critical illness?
I know loads of people that have critical illness. But not one that has ever claimed on it. I can't help think its one of those policies that benefits no one except the insurance company that sells it to you.Eat vegetables and fear no creditors, rather than eat duck and hide.0
