you want to connect somthing that is PS2 connector to a LCD monitor?

why? I dont know of any PS2 devices that output a video signal.

maybe you should check the connector try having a look for svideo and not PS2 see if that is the type of "PS2" you have?

I think you might need a composite to vga/dvi connector

ahh ok I must have missed the a after I have A ps2.

you want to connect a PS2 games console to a monitor

you need to get a VGA box to convert what ever signal it receives to VGA then get a cable to connect to the PS2 that will also connect to the vga box the standard cable may connect to it I cant remember what type of cable mine came with its been packed away for ages.

I dont think the PS2 suports vga so there wont be any improvement displaying the image on a monitor.

Something like this but this one has limited input options.
