I am moving abroad soon so need to sell my car next month.

What are best sites to get 2-3 typical quotes for my car? (will be selling for cash)

probably prefer to sell to a dealer or car garage rather than private.
any tips welcome on selling a 2 year old car back to a dealer welcome.

thanks

I wouldn't get over excited and prepare to expect low if anything offers.
Dealers have to offer warranties etc, so the forecourt price is going to be somewhat different to what you may get offered. Put it like this, chances are you won't even get bottom book price to what you would see in say parkers guide. Traders usually use the Glass's guide and even then somebody has to underwrite the offer, best get your car up for sale now.

I need my car until at least end of July as I am still working.

where would you recommend I sell my car? main dealers or private/general auto dealers?

was put off if I sell privately having people around and driving my car etc, plus risk of any comeback, although my car is dealer serviced, low miles etc.
  • You could do a lot worse than posting what your car is. Theres a few guys in the trade on here and they'll give you a no nonsense appraisal of what it will be worth to a dealer.
You might not like the valuations though.

There is no risk of comeback selling privately and you don't have to let anyone drive your car. Depending what car you have, dealer prices will be 20 - 40% lower than what you could get with a private sale.

Edit: just seen your car. My guess you'd get £7.5K private and offers of £6 - £6.5K from a dealer.
