Difficult to say without knowing your circumstances - partner? are they working? other children? Receiving Housing Benefit?
To be honest, as it is only for a few weeks then I very much doubt it.
Have you been told that this will be unpaid leave? Could you not take it as holidays?
Instead of your being with your daughter during the day could she come to you and you continue to work? Have you asked Social Services if she could have someone come in to help her for a while?
Was she not given an assessment before she left hospital?
Perhaps you need to consider other options other than your looking after her (don't mean to sound cruel!)because I doubt whether there would be any benefits you could claim for such a short while.0 -
How old is your DD?
If she's old enough, then surely someone else can keep an eye on her for 20 hrs a week or she may be okay to fend for herself. If she's on crutches and old enough etc, then they'll be no problem with her being by herself and she can do things for herself. To repeat what others have said, requires education, to challenge it,requires brains!FEB GC/DIESEL £200/4 WEEKS0 -
If there's no family or friends who can help there doesn't seem to be any provisions for this sort of thing, as suggested could you take it as paid holidays or ask your employer if you can make the hours up/work from home home depending on your role.
If receiving HB/CTB:
As you will be short in income for the particular month it may be an idea to inform your LA of the change in income before it happens and then declare it when you receive your wage slip so the change can be applied from the beginning stating you will be living off tax credits for the 2 weeks in question.
If you have other bills to pay give them a ring and ask can you delay paying for 2 weeks or for this month and pay a little extra in forthcoming months to catch up, if you contact them they tend to be a little more accepting rather than not paying at all.
Good luck and hope you get back on track soon and your daughter recovers quickly.Forums can be/are a good guide to entitlement and it is good practice to back it up with clarification from the relevant department/specialist with written confirmation to safeguard yourself.0 -
I'm sure you earn to much to claim carers allowance and would need to care for her for 35 hours per week to get it anyway. Can she not manage while you work? Does she not have friends who can help too? I would think that personal care and meals would be the main issue. Are there any teenagers in family who might do a bit of cleaning for pocket money or something?Have a Bsc Hons open degree from the Open University 2015 :j:D:eek::T0

The child would need to be in receipt of middle/high rate care of DLA to enable the parent to claim Carer's Allowance.
With not knowing what age the child is we are making presumptions, hopefully she is a teenager and can fend for herself while mum goes to work.Forums can be/are a good guide to entitlement and it is good practice to back it up with clarification from the relevant department/specialist with written confirmation to safeguard yourself.0 -
I had assumed daughter was an independent adult! Hopefully OP will clarify."You've been reading SOS when it's just your clock reading 5:05 "0

That would be my suggestion as well if possible. I had food poisning a couple of years back and my mum took two weeks' holiday to stay here with me.
Again I'm guessing OP's DD is an adult!0
